One of the biggest surprise of this round was AS Roma which was pulled out from Europa League by Panathinaikos Athena after two victories with same score: 3-2.

The loss is more embarrassing if we say it happened home at Roma on Olimpico .

First goal of the match was marked by J.A. Riise in 12′ and everything seemed fine at that point for Roma. The nightmare started in min 40 when D. Cisse equalized from a penalty kick and it last only for 5 minutes. Because in the next 5 minutes the score became 1-3 for Panathinaikos.  S. Ninis and D. Cisse killed Italians hopes.

In the second half D.D. Rossi marked for 2-3 but it was to late.
