Roland Garros Stadium is the tennis venue which host each year Roland Garros, one of the biggest tennis competitions in the World. It is located in Paris (France).
It got the name from Roland Garros, a French pilot who fight in first World War. He is also first man who flight with a plane across Mediterranean Sea in 1913.
The stadium has twenty courts. Court Philippe Chatrier is the main court and it can support at this moment more than 15000 spectators. The court got the name of Philippe Chatrier, former head of French Tennis Federation, who is also know for bringing back tennis to Summer Olympics in 1988.
Another important court from Roland Garros Stadium is Suzanne Lenglen. This court got its name in 1997 as a tribute for former french tennis player Suzanner Lenglen who dominate tennis in the beginning of XX – century. The court’s capacity is 10,068.
