Euro 2016 will be hosted by France. The decision was announced today by Michele Platini. Other candidates for this competitions were Italy, Turkey and Sweden/Norway (together).

The decision starts some polemics because Michele Platini is from France. Also, France hosted a recent major competition 12 years ago (World Cup 98 France).
