Isner v Mahut – World Record Longest Game

John Isner (Usa) and Nicolas Mahut played today (and yesterday) a match at Wimbledon which will remain for a long time from now World Record for longest professional tennis match.

After two sets the score was equal and they start decisive set which normally can’t be ended until a player reach six or two points away after 5-5. And in this set none of the players did a break before first 138 games and the game’s end came only after  11 hours and five minutes. The final score was 6-4, 3-6, 6-7, 7-6, 70-68.

Yesterday, the game was stoped when the score was 59-59 because of the dark. Only three breaks were realized during the entire game.

Not only the longest game World Record was achieved in this match. John Isner has now World Record title for most aces in one match: 112. Mahut has also 102 aces which could be easy an World Record without Isner.
