Ricardo Costa got a red card with two minutes before the end. After a weak game against Spain, Ricardo Costa punch an opponent with his elbow and he was automatically sent off by the referee.

where exactly is the punch? get your description of the video correct…..portugal didn't pay referees enough to get a red card given to spain…or something to that effect.

Ref makes no calls the entire game and gives a red card when Portugal is putting pressure… what a joke.

Im no Portuguese but I still cant see no elbow in Capdevils face. He would be awarded an Oscar and sent off. In my opinon he´d be the one sent off and miss the next match. Cheaters dont belong on field!
Suspension on that dirty Capdevila, please. He is a cheat and it's ugly to see behaviour like this on the pitch. Suspend him like they suspended RIvaldo a few years ago.

Agreed. Costa comes in with his left elbow during the free kick and comes around in front of him and the goal (see wide shot of the free kick, before the close up everyone is talking about). I don't know how EVERYONE out there is missing this. Capdevila DID NOT dive. Seriously. Geez.

This is the last football championship that I will follow. It is no fun to see drama queens and cheaters fooling blind referees in competitions that do not use technique that is available and helping hockey, tennis etc. Shame on FIFA and shame on all fuc…g cheaters! These players do not deserve to be called anything else than fuc..g puss..s!
Right after it happened, there were several slow motion replays on CCTV in China, but I never saw any contact. The reason people zoom in is because you can barely see anything in the wide shot, but when you zoom in, you don't see contact. I don't really care about the players or the teams, and watching the FIFA World cup is something I only just picked up, so I consider my opinion unbiased. I just do not understand why he was red carded. It looked like an act from Capdevila to me.
This is a pattern with Spain. There was also no contact in the red card Chile received against Spain in the previous game. It's a part of their strategy. They're a horribly dirty team this year, which is a shame, because they play well enough to win without cheating.
It's an absolute disgrace, people call for goal line technology but goal line incidents happen once in a blue moon. Use video evidence to ban these cheats. if they're caught diving or cheating on camera then give them an immediate 2 game ban. If they wave an imaginary card at the referee give them a 2 game ban. If they lie on the floor for more than 30 seconds clutching their leg or face and then get up and sprint around, ban them for a game. it will put an end to all this nonsense.
